Military ranks are tricky to learn, especially to get them in the right order. Some of the military services have their own set of ranks, which only adds to the confusion.<\/span><\/p>\n To learn military ranks, you\u2019ll need to know what each service specifically calls their ranks, the abbreviations used, and how they look in the symbols themselves. Some are similar to one another, whereas others look largely different.<\/span><\/p>\n The General of the Armies of the United States or General of the Armies is the highest military rank in the US Army. Enlisted rankings, some of the highest include Sargent Major of the Army and Command Sargent Major.<\/span><\/p>\n For officers, aside from the General of the Armies, the other highest ranking positions include General and Lieutenant General.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The highest military rank is O-10, otherwise referred to as five-star general. It\u2019s symbolized by five stars, one for each of the military services. That\u2019s Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard.<\/span><\/p>\n Interestingly, no officer has been promoted to it since World War II when the rank was created.
